An atricle on the minerals of the Mount Cleveland Mine, Luina, Tasmania, written by a friend of mine, Peter Hall from Melbourne, Victoria, was published in the now defunct Australian Mineralogist (Volume 5, Number 3, July-September, 1990).
A number of minerals not previously recorded have recently been identified, both from recent collecting, and from specimens collected by a miner at the time of mining operations which have now made their way on to the collector market.
The original article which deals with the history, geology and minerals of the mine has been reproduced here but without the black and white photographs that accompanied it. This article was limited to specimens in Peter's collection and in the Museum of Victoria. Mining operations had ceased prior to the article being written.
An update to the minerals of the Mount Cleveland Mine is currently underway and will be published here soon with colour images.
