John Rutherford's Copper Mine, Upper Natone

This copper mine was typical of many small mines which began with similar ceremony but closed down after a short time. Another example of this type was the silver mine at Penguin.

Points of interest include the formal ceremony, lack of mine machinery, roughly cleared land, and the flags.
